Wow! I left you hanging on the room addition, didn’t I? I am so sorry!!! Life has been crazy here on Pearl Street the last couple of weeks! My hubby received his Bachelor’s degree (super proud wife here!!!) so we had to have a party for him, the day job has been so busy I haven’t even had time to sneak onto Facebook while I am there ;), and by the time I get home and cook and eat dinner I am just ready to fall into bed!! There was also the Nascar race at the Brickyard in Indianapolis (seriously HOT day, I have never drank so much water in my life!) and did I tell you about the weekend we had all the grandkiddos all night? YEP…..five of them, from the ages of two to ten!! It took us three days to recuperate, hahaha!!!
Anyway…..let’s pick up where we left off! If you remember, we had just gotten the laundry room framed and the hubby was working on the electrical and plumbing while I was surfing Pinterest for lighting and decor ideas.
About this time in the project my hubby took time off work to be able to get the electrical and plumbing done. This saved us a ton of money on the build!! Our son came over and helped and for eight hours one day they were under the house stringing wire from one end of the house to the other. Sorry, no pics of that process, I don’t go under the house…too many spiders, ugh!!! He got the recessed lighting put in and the plugins, doesn’t it look so neat?
My hubby is so handy!! He worked so hard to make sure it was perfect!!
Next came insulation and drywall. Then it was my turn to work, painting!!
After drywall and mudding and sanding I swept the osb floor with a shop vac and used a dust mop on the walls (not in that order) then mopped the entire 900 square feet to cut down the dust. Then we finally took down the old french doors. FINALLY it was time to put Notre Dame Grey on the walls (happy dance time!!) I painted all 900 square feet twice!! I had to paint the ceiling 3 times because I wanted a non textured ceiling and the roller marks were awful to get rid of!!
Then the hubby put up the ceiling fan (that we compromised on, and I am glad we did) and the LED light up in the laundry room along with the built in ironing board.
And the light fixture for the entry to the new family room (heart emoji)
After we finished painting and putting in the light fixtures, we went and picked out the floor….I can’t wait to show you how it turned out!!!
